Summer Enrichment Experiences for BSN Students

Below find a list of experiences that upper-division Bachelor of Science in Nursing students may participate during the summer between their junior and senior years of the nursing program. Please check back as we add more opportunities.

Summer Electives:

  • NUR 3946L: The Childbearing Family Clinical Practice – 3 credits
  • NUR 3946L: The Child Health Clinical Practice – 3 credits
  • NUR 4930: Spirituality & Creativity in Nursing Practice, 3 credits
  • NUR 4930: Family Violence and Healthcare Practice, 3 credits (tentative, online)

Other Enrichment Experiences:

Jacksonville American Diabetes Camp -Volunteer opportunity that offers valuable experience in pediatrics on the Jacksonville University campus.

Baptist Downtown Jacksonville (an acute care facility) is willing to accept 5 students as nurse assistants for 10 weeks in the summer.  They would be paired with a BSN nurse.  If any of the students are interested in this option, please email
