Health Care Environments and Systems
The Department of Health Care Environments and Systems (ENV) is comprised of faculty members whose nursing focus is community/public health, psychiatric-mental health, and administration. The department has primary responsibility for teaching the core courses in the BSN, MSN and DNP programs, the community and psychiatric-mental health courses in the BSN, MSN and DNP programs, and the majority of courses in the doctoral program. Core courses include such courses as professional socialization, research, health policy, health promotion, ethics, and theory.
Master’s degree/DNP degree tracks offered in the Department of Health Care Environments and Systems include the psychiatric-mental health clinical nurse specialist/nurse practitioner track.
In addition to teaching, faculty members in the ENV Department conduct research in community/public health and psychiatric-mental health nursing.
