Teaching: Dr. Yoon teaches courses in Adult Health nursing (clinical courses), Research to undergraduate, Research utilization to masters track students, and Quantitative measurement to Doctoral students.

Research: Dr. Yoon is mainly interested in the utilization of complementary and alternative therapies for health promotion and managing chronic illness in older adults. She has completed series of studies related to the use of dietary supplements among older adults. Those are herbal use among older women in difference ethnic groups and effect of a dietary supplement (glucosamine & chondroitin sulfate) to manage osteoarthritis symptoms. She is also interested in exploring the effects of non-pharmacological modality (massage therapy) to reduce pain for the persons with sickle cell disease and cancer, and utilization of non-pharmacological modalities among caregivers of children with sickle cell disease. Her research interest also includes examining the relationship between utilization of complementary and alternative medicine and health care disparities in diverse ethnic groups.

Service: Dr. Yoon serves on the Research Committee of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society Alpha Theta chapter and is a member of the International Affairs Committee (IAC) of the CON Faculty Organization. She is a member of Florida Nurses Association, the Southern Nursing Research Society, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, American Geriatrics Society, and Oncology Nursing Society.

Education: Dr Yoon received her BSN in Nursing at Seoul National University (Korea). She received her MSN in Adult Health Nursing and her PhD in Nursing at the University of Florida, Gainesville FL.
