Faculty International Efforts
The College’s faculty members and students collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Listed here are some recent activities:
- Jenks Endowed Chair Dr. Beverly Roberts attended a conference in Fall 2009 in Chungham, Korea and presented a study she had done in conjunction with Dr. Rhayun Song, who was a visiting professor from Chungnam National University in 2008. In addition, a study on the effects of tai-chi on diabetes conducted by both Drs. Song and Roberts was featured in a recent issue of The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
- The meeting of the Society for Applied Anthropology will be held in Merida, Yucatan, March 24-27, 2010. Associate Professor Dr. Sharleen Simpson was asked by the society to plan a session for the meetings. This session proposal will include presentations from researchers at the Facultad de Enfermería de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatan (UADY) and the College of Nursing/UF. The focus of the session is Community-Based Health Research. Confirmation of acceptance of the session proposal is forthcoming.
