University of Florida College of Nursing faculty members Debra Lyon, Ph.D., R.N., FAAN, and Joyce Stechmiller, Ph.D, ARNP, FAAN, were notified March 29 of an award for an National Institute of Nursing Research R01 grant, ‘Biobehavioral mechanisms underlying symptoms and healing outcomes in older individuals with CVLU.’
The five-year, $2.7 million grant is aimed at identifying the complex biobehavioral mechanisms responsible for symptoms and healing outcomes for older adults with venous leg ulcers, or VLU, for the development of targeted therapies that address patient-oriented outcomes and healing outcomes.
The project period runs April 1, 2018 – January 31, 2023.
