UF Nursing Collaborates with UF Health and VA for Annual Research Summit

Attendees and participants of this spring’s College of Nursing Research Summit and Malasanos Lectureship were exposed to a wide variety of research ranging from sickle cell disease, medical marijuana, traumatic brain injury biomarkers and everything in between. Held in April, this yearly event was expanded last year in collaboration with UFHealth and the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center and showcases the innovative research being conducted by UF Nursing students and faculty, as well as clinicians and interdisciplinary professionals. The full day of activities included nearly 100 posters and e-poster presentations, an awards ceremony and two panel presentations. The Malasanos Lecture was titled “Biomarkers that Shape Recovery from Brain Injuries and was presented by Jessica Gill, Ph.D., R.N., the Lasker Clinical Research Scholar with the National Institute of Nursing Research.
