DNP Student Awards

Deadline: April 20 (for DNP students graduating within the current calendar year – spring, summer, fall DNP graduates)

Excellence in Community Service Award


The Excellence in Community Service Award recognizes a student who has performed an exceptional act of service to their community and meets the below criteria:

  • Be a graduating DNP student
  • Submit the following with your award application:
    • A narrative statement (250 words or less) describing leadership roles in at least two community service activities (include dates and sponsoring agency)
    • A faculty or agency letter of support

Excellence in Advancing Nursing Practice Award


The UF College of Nursing Advancing Nursing Practice Award honors a student who has an impact on practice as a result of their DNP project scholarship and meets the below criteria:

  • Be a graduating DNP student
  • Submit the following with your award application:
    • A narrative statement (250 words or less) describing his/her scholarship activity, DNP project focus and impact, project dissemination, future direction and goals
    • A faculty or agency letter of support

UF College of Nursing Leadership Award

The UF College of Nursing Leadership Award honors a student who led in the transformation of healthcare through their leadership role and meets the below criteria:

  • Be a graduating DNP student
  • Submit the following with your award application
    • A narrative statement (250 words or less) describing leadership activity and impact at the college, university, or community level
    • A faculty or agency letter of support

UF College of Nursing Diversity Award

The UF College of Nursing Excellence in Diversity Award honors a student who is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and meets the below criteria:

  • Be a graduating DNP student
  • Submit the following with your award application
    • A narrative statement (250 words or less) describing your contribution to diversity at the college of university level
    • A faculty recommendation letter endorsing your contribution to diversity efforts
