OPEN POSITIONS:

Postdoctoral Position (Posted March 2024)

The University of Florida College of Nursing (CON) seeks a full-time (1.0 FTE) Post-Doctoral Associate who seeks to expand one’s program of research that focuses on priority areas of the CON such as informatics, palliative care, symptom science and health promotion. The successful applicant will also demonstrate a passion for improving the impact of nursing on patient outcomes.

Features of Postdoctoral Positions:

  • Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)

  • Salaries for postdoctoral positions are commensurate with experience level and in accordance with current NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Stipends for postdoctoral trainees.

The Postdoctoral Role

Our postdocs are an integral part of the research mission of the College of Nursing. The responsibilities of postdoc who work with research faculty in the CON may include:

  • Working with the research team on ongoing research projects
  • Data analysis and writing for publications
  • Preparing presentations and other forms of dissemination
  • Development and submission of research grants
  • Mentorship of pre-doctoral students and peers
  • Building collaborations for future research
  • Committee involvement within the UF CON

Requirements

Candidates must have a PhD in nursing and an area of research consistent with the UF CON research foci as stated above. Beginning publication record and desire to pursue external grant opportunities.

Part-time Positions

Would you consider a part-time position to teach the next generation of Gator Nurse? The UF College of Nursing is looking for registered nurses to teach the outstanding pre-licensure BSN students in our traditional and accelerated baccalaureate programs in the clinical and/or learning laboratory setting. We are seeking clinical faculty with expertise in inpatient high-acuity nursing care, low- and high-fidelity laboratory settings, and a passion for educating future Gator Nurses.

Features of Clinical Faculty Positions:

  • Work part-time, one or two days a week, tailored to your personal scheduling needs
  • Commit to a semester- at-a-time

The Clinical Faculty Role

Our clinical faculty are an integral part of the education of our students. The responsibilities of clinical faculty who work with our pre-licensure BSN students include:

  • Supervising care provided by a group of students (usually eight students in a group) while they complete their clinical rotation in your area of specialty
  • Supervising and teaching nursing skills and performing low- and high-fidelity simulations
  • Teaching students how to perform duties in the clinical site and answering their questions
  • Evaluating students’ experiential performance and written work

We seek part-time instructors who have experience and specialized skills in the following areas:

  • Adult health
  • Pediatrics
  • Maternal-newborn health
  • Mental health nursing
  • Simulation and skills laboratory

Requirements

Clinical faculty must hold an active license as an RN in the state of Florida and have at least two years of clinical experience and hold a MSN or doctoral degree in nursing.
