Frequently Asked Questions – Career Fair

What time should recruiters arrive?

  • Check-in for recruiters begins at 10:30 a.m. We do ask that you arrive with enough time to check in with our volunteers and set up your table before the doors open to students.

What type of student participation is expected?

  • We strongly encourage all students, including BSN, PhD, and DNP students, to attend this event. Historically, this event attracts approximately 200-250 students. It is a “come and go” event, meaning students often attend in waves throughout the event. Please note that students from our Jacksonville campus are expected to attend during the later half of the event timeframe.

What time does the event start?

  • Doors to students open at 11:30 a.m.

What time does event end?

  • The event ends at 2:30 p.m. We ask that all companies finish breaking down their items by 3:00 p.m.

Is there time to eat?

  • Boxed lunches and beverages will be available for recruiters no later than 10:30 a.m.

What is parking like?

  • Parking is available in the UF Health Visitor’s Garage (on the WEST side of UF Health Shands, at the intersection of Center Drive and Mowry Road)
  • One parking voucher will be provided in the packet you will receive upon check-in to waive the $20 parking fee. To use it, please provide it to the parking attendant as you exit after the event. If additional vouchers are necessary, please contact the Office of Student Services in advance of the event date.

How do I load in/load out materials?

  • We will have Gator Nurse Ambassadors, with carts, working back and forth between the “Circle on Center Drive” and the HPNP Reception Hall. This is to help recruiters load in prior to parking and load out after the event. A map will be provided to recruiters via email prior to the event date showing where to park, where to load/unload and the location of the Career Fair.

How do I ensure that my organization is on the Career Fair mailing list for future events?

  • Be sure you are “in the know” about our next Career Fair, contact the Office of Student Services to request to be added to the “Career Fair Mailing List.” Please note, participating organizations are automatically on the list, with no further action.
