The Office of Professional Nursing Development provides excellent opportunities to nurses and other health professionals to addresses gaps in knowledge, competence, and/or performance, as well as help disseminate evidence-based knowledge and skills.
In order to meet these goals, the office:
- Strives to provide lifelong, cutting-edge educational opportunities for health professionals
- Aims to familiarize nurses with the latest evidence-based practices
- Promotes an improved understanding of leadership and evolving practice trends.
The mission of the Office of Professional Nursing Development- University of Florida (OPND-UF) is to be a champion for the advancement of nursing science, nursing education, and clinical practice of professional nurses. This is accomplished by providing high-quality evidence-based educational activities based upon emerging patterns within nursing and healthcare, societal needs, and the identified needs of the registered nurse and advanced practice nurse learner
Under the NLC, nurses can practice in other NLC states, without having to obtain additional licenses.
