About Paula Alexander-Delpech


Dr. Delpech teaches undergraduate Community/Public Health Nursing and System of Care: Prevention and Wellness. Dr. Delpech believe that in order for learning to take place, a synergy must be created in the classroom between the teacher and the student. As such, she utilizes team-based learning in her courses.


Dr. Delpech’s research and scholarship interest includes international service-learning, global health and health disparities with an emphasis on the Caribbean and the Caribbean diaspora. Dr. Delpech focus is on developing culturally appropriate breast cancer awareness initiatives to low-and middles-income countries (LMICs) through high-quality, community-based education and contemporary eHealth.


Dr. Delpech is a member of member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society. Prior to moving to Gainesville in May, 2016, Dr. Delpech worked with many local organizations to promote health within local communities. Most recently, she worked with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to develop a church-based health promotion initiative to improve breast cancer screening among African American women living in Miami-Dade, Florida. Dr. Delpech hopes to continue her work with local churches in Gainesville. Dr. Delpech serves as a peer reviewer for several journals.
