About David J Derrico

TEACHING

Professor Derrico teaches adult health nursing didactic and clinical classes to BSN, RN-BSN, and ABC students. The didactic courses taught include pathophysiology and health assessment. Professor Derrico has been honored with numerous teaching awards including ten consecutive outstanding undergraduate teaching awards, three College of Nursing teacher of the year awards, and two Teaching improvement (TIP) awards.

SERVICE

Professor Derrico holds membership in Florida Nurses Association, Oncology Nursing Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International. He has held leadership positions in the local SSTI chapter.

Professor Derrico is a clinical nurse specialist in critical care nursing, he holds certification in oncology nursing and has practice experience in both adult and pediatric critical care as well as adult and pediatric medical-surgical nursing. Professor Derrico has expertise in Legal Nurse Consulting and Pathophysiology and Health Assessment.
