About UFSNA

The University of Florida Student Nursing Association (UFSNA) is the College of Nursing’s pre-professional organization. SNA allows students to grow through service, leadership and mentorship. By facilitating community and a culture of curiosity, nursing students are afforded opportunities to learn more about nursing specialties, professional development and other aspects of health care continuity at both the Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses.

Monthly Events:

  • General Body Meetings (GBMs)
  • Professional development workshops
  • Community service events
  • Socials

Networking and Career-Advancing Opportunities:

  • Alumni Q&A’s
  • Mock interviews
  • Certification courses

Locally, SNA is associated with many projects, including Breakthrough to Nursing and EduGator! In collaboration with the Pre-Nursing Student Association, SNA facilitates the UF College of Nursing Student Mentorship Program to promote 1:1 mentorship opportunities for future Gator Nursing students.

FNSA & NSNA

As a multi-tiered organization, UFSNA extends to the state and national level with the Florida Nursing Student Association (FNSA) and the National Student Nursing Association (NSNA). Its purpose is to support nursing students and create opportunities for networking, education, service and representation of student perspectives at the university, state and national levels. Each year, FNSA and NSNA hold annual conventions where students can attend focus sessions, network with healthcare systems and graduate programs and present research. These experiences broaden students’ knowledge and support personal and professional growth. Currently and previously, members of the UFSNA have held positions on the state and national levels. Our members have traveled to Nashville TN, Seattle WA, Washington DC, and more to represent Florida nursing students and advocate for the profession.
