About Exxat and Health Requirements
UF College of Nursing has partnered with Exxat APPROVE, a background check and compliance management company, to provide a secure account for time-sensitive school immunization requirements.
All students entering the UF College of Nursing, regardless of their status, whether they are on-campus, online, or participating in clinical activities, are required to obtain a new Exxat APPROVE account. This profile must be maintained throughout enrollment, in accordance with the College of Nursing Student Health Policy and the clinical faculty’s immunization requirements.
Helpful Tip: Exxat APPROVE will invite students to create their accounts and send notifications to their UF email regarding any rejected submissions and reminders for immunizations and training that are soon to expire.
Important Notice: Students admitted beginning Spring 2024; please use Exxat APPROVE for all your health requirements.
- International students will use CastleBranch. Please contact your academic advisor for details prior to purchasing.
- Ph.D. students and students admitted before Spring 2024, please continue to use CastleBranch for all your health requirements.
Level 2- Background Clearance
Background check, Fingerprinting, Drug test
The background check and health records process is consistent for all College of Nursing programs regardless of clinical or campus status. An unencumbered background check must be maintained throughout the student’s participation in the nursing program. This requirement ensures that students’ background checks will not prevent placement in a clinical setting and/or present difficulty in obtaining professional licensure and/or certification.
Important Deadline: The background check, drug test and fingerprinting must be completed 2 weeks prior to the first term start date.
For assistance with items in this area, contact Exxat APPROVE.
All students are required to obtain the following items:
- New background check
- New drug test
- New fingerprinting
RN to BSN & Grad students only: Must submit copies of their Nursing license
Note: We cannot accept ANY outside items to satisfy this requirement regardless of how recently obtained.
Immunizations & Trainings
To ensure compliance with health regulations, students are required to report all necessary immunizations on the Mandatory Health History Form for Health Professions through a form on the UF Student Health Compliance Office website.
Immunization submissions which indicate titers or x-rays must include a copy of the findings along with the mandatory health history form. Failure to do so will result in a rejected submission. All newly admitted or re-admitted domestic students who are enrolled at least half-time in a degree-seeking program along with all international students are required to purchase the Student Health Insurance Plan unless proof of comparable coverage is provided. For specific details on the College of Nursing’s student immunization requirements, please see the S1.01-Student-Health-Policy.
All students must show immunity for the following immunizations:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)- Two MMR vaccines or a positive titer showing immunity
- Hepatitis B- Completed Hepatitis B series or a positive titer showing immunity
- Varicella- Two varicella vaccines or a positive titer showing immunity
- Tetanus- A TDAP vaccine within the last 10 years
