College of Nursing Postdoctoral associate Lisa Scarton was selected by the National Institutes of Health Office of Scientific Workforce Diversity to participate in the NIH Future Research Leaders Conference (FRLC) on September 12-14, 2017, in Bethesda, Maryland. “The applicant pool was very strong with over 170 applications from early-career scientists for 30 spots. She will make a brief presentation at the research symposium and a poster at the NIH Research Festival. Scarton works with mentors CON Endowed Professor Diana Wilkie from the CON, and UF College of Medicine faculty member Mark Atkinson, director of the UF Diabetes Institute.
