UF Preeminence

Investing in people and programs that empower UF to help the world.

The true might of The Gator Nation is in our ability to come together around a challenge. UF Preeminence is one such challenge. This initiative began in 2013 with the University of Florida’s designation by the Florida Legislature as the state’s preeminent institution. Today, preeminence is an opportunity to achieve national and international recognition for our work in serving students and the world.

We are investing in people. Top-notch faculty, staff, and students make UF great. We recognize each individual’s career achievements benefit our collective efforts. The University of Florida has an abundance of tools and talent to help employees achieve excellence in all areas and at every level.

Faculty support is critical to our success. Endowed professorships and chairs are key to retaining faculty and attracting rising stars. These positions provide top faculty with funding that accelerates the pace of discovery. Our goal is to reach 500 endowed positions, a number comparable to peer universities.

We are creating an environment where all the members of the UF community can be successful. The kind of environment you’ve been searching for is waiting for you at the University of Florida.

Please consider joining us on this journey of Preeminence. Learn more.
